Elizabeth Magnolia Houston, 96, passed away at 6:37 am Saturday, November 14, 2020, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Bardwell, Kentucky, on June 16, 1924, and was the daughter of Robert and Minnie (Yates) Jones.

She married Albert R. Houston on May 17, 1941, in Charleston, Missouri.

Elizabeth enjoyed making clothes for her six daughters, watching Wheel of Fortune, talking on the telephone, going for long car rides through the country, going to church, teaching her Sunday School classes, reading, singing, flowers, birds, chocolate and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Jim) Smith of Alton, Illinois; Marilyn Lopez of Octate, New Mexico, Pam (Tom) Barnes of Connersville, Indiana; Teresa (Rick) Hicks of East Alton, Illinois; Karen (Frank) Maxwell of Villa Grove, Illinois; Tina Spears of Belleville, Illinois and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Houston, Infant son, Howard Eugene Houston, her parents; her sisters, Lucille Vann and Orene Knight; and her brothers, Bud, and Buck Jones.

Due to COVID-19, private graveside services will be held at the Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
