A Tribute to my husband by Rosemarie Gebhart Parker

Some knew my husband as Carl, others as David or Dave, and a few as Mr. Parker or as Mr. Avon, one (our son) knew him as Dad and I knew him as Honey. But no matter by what name you called him he would respond with an open and joyous heart.

He had a good sense of humor and loved a joke, He loved to tell people that with the Avon, I would tell him "where to go" (make deliveries).

He enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys and the Cowboys of OSU, the Mavericks and the Texas Rangers. He would get so wrapped up that one would think he was directing the plays.

He enjoyed the brotherhood of the Knights of Columbus and had made so many of you his friends.

He loved teaching and enjoyed his students. Some students maybe did not always appreciate him but many would come back later and thank him.

He loved his God and spent time in prayer with Him. He loved a good sermon and would very often on the way home "I felt like Father was talking to me".

And he loved me and our son Chris.

And in parting I, Rosemarie was honored that he loved me and feel that he knew I was so honored. I know that many of you have felt honored by his friendship.
