She married the love of her life, Jim Hartman on February 2th, 1970.
In 1981, Carol and Jim purchased Harmony Grocery and Feed. Years later, after the couple decided to close the business, Carol worked as the secretary of Porterfield Lutheran Church. Here is where she found her passion for music and her calling to become a Piano Teacher.
Besides music, Carol enjoyed gardening, crafts, decorating, but most importantly, she loved spending time with the people that mattered most in her life: Her family.
Carol is survived by her husband Jim;
her children: Jim (Jenny), Jeff, Kate (Travis) Reidell;
her grandchildren: Austin, Morgan, Trenton, Ellysa and Trevor;
Carol’s sisters: Linda and Chris (Ken) Utech;
and brother Rick (Cindy) Olson.
She is preceded in death by her parents and infant son.
