Denzil “Ray” Earp of Merrillville, IN was born December 23, 1934 to the late Ethel Earp of Jay, Oklahoma. He was married to his beloved wife Betty “Sue” Earp for 54 years. Denzil was a hard-working husband and father who worked for the Local 150 for 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed harness racing, but most of all he enjoyed being surrounded by his family, which was his main priority. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Harvey for many years. Denzil is survived by his children, he was also a devoted grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty “Sue” Earp, son Timothy Earp, grandson Nathan Daulton, and granddaughter Mariah Earp. Denzil made his entrance to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the age of 85. Viewing will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd). Highland, IN 46322. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle, sweet man, with an unforgettable laugh, and a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
