Barbara Jean Burton, 84, of Bolt went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 19, 2020. Barbara was a loving wife of 63 years and mother. She was one of God’s warriors. She was previously a youth leader at different churches and she loved to sing in church. She was a current member of Dry Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

She was born on November 19, 1936 in Saunders, WV to the late Clyde Compton (1907-1952) and Goldie P. Ramsey-Compton-Daniels (Died in 2006). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Burton Sr. (1936-2016) whom she married on October 8, 1954 in Hunt, Logan County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Logan County, WV, 1954, Page 318, Application Date: October 5, 1954); brothers, Clyde "Troy" Compton (1930-1996), Kenneth E. Compton (1933-2012), and Dennis Compton (Deceased).

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Earl Burton Jr. & wife Diana Burton; daughter, Mary Burton-Lafferty & husband David Lafferty; grandchildren, Jaimi Bloomfield & husband Chris Bloomfield, Tera Burton, Samantha Burton; Houston Lafferty, and Kandi Lafferty; great-grandchildren, Makaila Burton, Makenzi Hostler & husband Caleb Hostler, Jordan Kagey, and Sydni Kagey; great-great-grandchildren, Jenson, Addilyn, and Carsen; sister, Lois Compton-Browning & husband Clark Browning; brothers, Roger Compton & wife Clela Compton, Johnny Daniels & wife, Sandra Daniels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be held 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 28, 2020 with Pastor Daniel Legg and Pastor Houston Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. In keeping with the orders issues by the Governor of WV, facial coverings must be worn at all times and social distancing must be practiced.
