Ruth Ann Parham Harrison, age 84 of Fordyce died Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce, Arkansas.

She was born September 6, 1936 in Camden, Arkansas.

Ruth Ann graduated Valedictorian of Thornton High School and graduated with honors from Henderson State Teachers College and was president of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority.

She was an active member of Fordyce First United Methodist Church. She was member of The Ginther Sunday School Class and a member of United Methodist Women organization. She served on many committees: Chairman of the Bereavement Meals Committee, Family Life, Trustees, Staff Parish Relations, Landscape and currently Lay Leadership. She was an active member of the Mary Mays Circle of FFUMC holding different office in leadership holes.

For many years she served as the storyteller of the Children’s Story Time. Co-Chaired United Methodist Youth. Ruth Ann and Bob were in charge of the meals for the children that attended the “After School Mentoring Program” for the community sponsored by the Fordyce First United Methodist Church.

She was past member of the Sesame Club and Delta Kappa Gamma and currently a member of Dallas and Cleveland County of Retired Teachers Association. She co-chaired the organization for two years. She was secretary/treasurer of Temperance Hill Cemetery Association for twenty years.

She was as a volunteer for the Dallas County Museum and was involved in the Annual Garden Party during the Cotton Belt Festival. She worked behind the scenes tirelessly on any project that she was involved in at the church and community. She loved visiting shut-ins and sharing her cooking skills for them. She will be dearly missed by her church family and friends of the community.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Reece A. Parham and Ruby Mae Lynn-Parham; and one daughter, Rebecca Ann Harrison.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Harrison of Fordyce; one son, Bobby Harrison and wife Susy of Little Rock; one sister, Dot Parham of Sheridan; one brother, Reece Parham and wife Susie of Fayetteville; and one grandchild, Chris Harrison of Little Rock.

The funeral services will be private.
