Gladys E. Roche (nee Ward) age 83, of Elyria and formerly of Grafton and Brunswick, OH, passed away in her home, following a brief illness, early Saturday, November 21, 2020 surrounded by family. She was born June 24, 1937 in Cleveland, OH. She has resided in Elyria for the past 7 years and was primarily a homemaker.
Gladys was a charter member of the Pentecostal Church of the Living God in Chatham, OH for 25 years. While in church, she enjoyed playing the drums and singing. She was still active throughout her Senior years playing on a Bowling League as well as roller-skating with her husband, Ralph in later years.
She is survived by six sons, Thomas Ford (wife, Maryann) of Lorain, OH, Pastor Joe Ford (wife, Lory) of Grafton, Michael Ford of Elyria, Steven Ford (wife, Anita) of Elyria, Melvin Ford (wife, Tracy) of Grafton and Tim Ford (wife, Marge) of Grafton; Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Her loving pets, "Dottie" and "Happy"; a brother, Melvin Ward (wife, Terri) of Brunswick and a sister, Jan Pesci (husband, John) of Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ford, her second husband Ralph Roche , her son, Jimmy Ford and her parents, Melvin and Evelyn Ward (nee Jones).
Funeral service will be held at Busch Funeral and Crematory Service, 114 Second St, Elyria on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 12:00pm. Pastor Joe Ford will officiate. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday. Cremation by Busch Crematory Service.
