Juana "Jenny" Garcia, 79 of Lansing Michigan, was called to heaven on Thursday, November 19, 2020.
Juana was born in San Luis Potosi S.L.P, Mexico on December 27, 1940. She immigrated to Chicago, IL with her family in 1973 and resided in the Pilsen and McKinley Park Area. Then in 1989, she moved to Lansing, Michigan were she has been a resident of the Delta Township ever since.
Jenny was married to Bernabe Garcia since March 29, 1962. They were married for 58 years.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling but most importantly she loved God, being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a best friend. “She was the voice of peace and love”. The smallest things in life gave her happiness. Her greatest blessings were when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was kind, very caring and always offered us delicious food for comfort. She was very creative and always celebrated her family.
Jenny is survived by her loving husband, Bernabe Garcia, her children, Rosa (Peter) Viramontes, Martha Feliciano, Angel Garcia, Elizabeth (Marco) Caballero and Carlos Garcia, grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Alyssa, Justin, Jaylen, Noel, Anastasia, Nicole, Cristian, Payton, Cecilia, Emilio, Marco, Citali, Olivia and Roman, great grandchildren, Ja’Lexia, Naima, Isabella, Samaya, Arian, and Alexander.
Jenny is preceded in death by her mother Juana Molina and her son Juan Bernabe Garcia.
Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Vincent Richardson as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Monday, November 23, 2020, from 3-7 PM.
