Alice Jeannette Mattingly Christensen, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and teacher passed away on March 16, 2019 at the age of 79 in Salt Lake City, Utah at 8:08 AM. Alice was born January 27,1940 to Charles Ray and Jennie Alvera Berg Mattingly at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Alice was an inquisitive child and learned to read from her older sister, Charlene before starting school. Her love of learning and reading was a great asset throughout her life. she graduated from Emery High School Valedictorian and continued her education at the University of Utah where she graduated with a masters degree in Special Education. Alice taught for many years at Highland High School and various other schools touching the lives of many of her students and their families. Even after retirement she continued her love of teaching finding great joy in her students accomplishments. Alice passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family and friends.
