Sergeant First Class Johnson, grew up in the rough streets of Washington, D.C. He had a strong desire to get ahead in the world and was guided by a loving family, which included his grandmother's guidance. He worked as a lifeguard during the summer and played wide receiver for Spingarn High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army and had done tours of duty in Bosnia, Afghanistan and was on his third tour of duty in Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, based in Vilseck, Germany. Randy is survived by his wife, Claudia, and their two children, Devin and Aaron; his father; eight brothers; and two sisters.
