Ralph Henry Hill, Jr., of San Antonio, TX, passed away November 13, 2020.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, daughter, sister, other relatives and many friends.
Ralph was born in 1948 in Ft. Worth, TX to Ralph and Mary Lou (Hartman) Hill. He earned both a B.S. and Ph.D. in physics from Texas A&M University, and remained a proud Aggie for the rest of his life. Ralph served at Kirtland Air Force Base researching Laser Physics before moving to San Antonio to continue laser work at Southwest Research Institute. He retired after over 30 years, but remained active at work, even in retirement.
Ralph loved sharing his passions (A&M, science, and handbells) with everyone he met. His 6'6" stature and animated voice stood out in any crowd.
Perpetual scientist, lifelong musician, enthusiastic dance partner, respected mentor, and memorable friend.
Rest in peace, sir.
