Sherry Diane Lewis, age 54, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2020, at Providence Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She was born on March 10, 1966 to her proud parents, Mattie and Seymon Patterson. Sherry completed her primary education in Oregon, where she was known as an active community member. She enjoyed large gatherings with family and friends; her home was always filled with laughter and outstanding home-cooked meals, or in her words a spared. Sherry had a big heart and made it her mission to make people feel comfortable in her home.
In 1979, Sherry met the love of her life, Mr. Willie B. Holloway. Sherry and Willie B. nurtured a magical relationship for over 29 years. They welcomed their only child, Willie Donate Holloway, in 1988. Sherry was a devoted mother to her son, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the neighborhood kids. During her spare time you could find Sherry around the house listening to old school jams. She also enjoyed watching TV, in fact, her all time favorite show was the Flintstones.
Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Seymon Patterson, sister, Brenda Lewis, the love of her life, Willie B. Holloway, and her daughter, Naomi Carruthers.
She is survived by her beloved son, Willie Donate Holloway (Tae) and daughter-in-law AngelaRenee Holloway (Renee) and her grandchildren; Deri’Onna Dior Holloway (Sweet Treat), Willie Dontae Holloway Jr. (Baby D), Brianna Bohlen (BB) and her life partner Troy Mangum all of Portland, Oregon. Sherry is also survived by her mother Mattie Patterson, of Portland, Oregon; along with one sister and four brothers; Vera Lewis of Auburn, Washington, William Lewis of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jimmy Lewis, Seymon Lewis Jr. (Moe), and Andrew Lewis (Andy), all of Portland, Oregon.
Sherry also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
