Phillip Henry Norton, age 91, passed away November 18, 2020 at his home in Rogersville, Tn. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Fredwin & Cora Norton; daughter, Patricia Oxborough and son, Bruce Norton. Phillip was born in Laurel Hill, Florida. He was a man of many trades, some of which included a cowboy, airplane mechanic for Pan Am Airline, HVAC worker, trucker and an inventor. He was baptized as a member of one of Jehovah’s witnesses on January 11, 1969. He died a faithful member of the Rogersville, Tn. Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Phillip and Rosa were married August 11 of 1948 in Valdosta, Ga. They lived in central and southern Florida when they were raising their four wonderful children. They have been living in Rogersville, Tn. for the last 20 years. He was a very humble, wise and loving husband, father and grandfather. He supported and loved his very large family dearly, who all looked up to him for the wonderful man that he was. Phillip and Rose built their first home when they were 15 and 19. They were childhood sweethearts. He had many hobbies which included traveling and sightseeing with his loving wife, tinkering with motorcycles with his son Douglas, walking his little dog Buddy and always inventing. He was a very wonderful caregiver for his aging wife. He will be missed dearly by all in his family.
He is survived by;
His wife of 72 years; Rosa Sarah Norton
Children; Phyllis C. Kahl and Douglas W. Norton
A mix of over 40 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
Many nieces and nephews
