his grandson said 1855. the census data kind of support that. in the 1860 census, he was listed at 6. in 1880, 24; in 1910 - 55; in 1920 - 66. HIs death was listed as march 16, 1926 less the 60 years on the death certificate would have made him being born in 1866. so i'm guessing maybe the death certificate could have some errors, since the census numbers more accurately line up.
