David was born on October 9, 1967, to Clutha and Larry Todd. Shortly after David's birth, his father, an Air Force pilot, was shot down over Vietnam and is considered missing in action. David was raised by his mother, grandparents, and aunts and uncles, and later by his stepfather, Henry Napier. David grew up in Snellville with his sisters, Jenny and Elizabeth Napier. He loved skiing and fishing, camping and hiking through the woods.
On January 22, 2005, David married Bella Azucena Rosales-Juarez. Together, they had three children – Sebastian, 14, Ethan, 7, and Mia, 5. David loved spending time with his family, whether they were building swing sets in the backyard, climbing Stone Mountain, exploring trails around North Georgia or just relaxing at home on movie night. (He also enjoyed sneaking out with Sebastian late at night for the occasional junk food run while Bella was asleep!)
David, a lover of practical jokes and off-color humor, never knew a stranger. He instantly connected to anyone he met and was always ready to lend a helping hand or shoulder to cry on. Because of COVID, David was separated from his family during the last months of his life. Despite this, David made friends with the hospital workers and made lasting impressions on all those he met. Perhaps Stephen, who kept David company while he straightened his room every day, said it best: “Mr. Todd was one of the kindest souls I ever met, and he will be sorely missed.”
David is survived by his wife, Bella, and three children, Sebastian, Ethan, and Mia.
