William "Willie" Ellis Arnaud, a retired stationary engineer for Orleans Parish School Board, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital. He was 83. Mr. Arnaud was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a 3rd Degree Knight of St. Peter Claver, a union representative of AFL-CIO and a member of St. Raymond Council No. 78. Survivors include his wife, Leora Collins Arnaud; four sons, Carroll, Roland, Eric and Joseph Arnaud; five daughters, Carolyn Hithe, Emma Thomas, Cecelia James, Lerna Arnaud and Helen Mackie; two brothers, Charles and Joseph Arnaud; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Raymond Catholic Church, 3738 Paris Ave. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Labat-Charbonnet Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
