Francis Marion Oliver, Jr., 91, of Barboursville died on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. Junior, as he was affectionately known, was a lifelong servant of the Lord and a devout Christian. He was a member of Altizer Freewill Baptist Church and a former member of Shamrock Freewill Baptist Church, where he held positions such as Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, and teacher. A former coal miner, Junior retired from WP Coal Company after 40 plus years of service. He was a 1947 Graduate of Logan High School. He had such a fun-loving personality and was always up for a good laugh. Junior loved spending time with family and friends, going to church, and traveling to the beach. He loved his family more than life and was adored by many.

He was born on May 15, 1929 at Boone County, WV to the late Francis Marion Oliver, Sr. (Deceased) and Thelma Myers-Oliver (Deceased). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva Jo Hooker-Oliver (1930-Deceased) whom he married on August 11, 1948 in Wayne, Wayne County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wayne County, WV, 1948, Page 370, Application Date: August 9, 1948); one son, Ronald "Ronnie" Ray Oliver (1952-2016); two brothers, Bill Myers (Deceased) and George Oliver (Deceased); three sisters, Violet Oliver-Wilson (Deceased), Betty Oliver-Adkins (Deceased), and Elsie Oliver-Deweese (Deceased); and five nephews, Terry Adkins (Deceased), Craig Adkins (Deceased), Michael Adkins (Deceased), James Wilson (Deceased), and Danny Wilson (Deceased).

Junior is survived by one son, Gary Oliver of Lake, WV; one daughter, Debra "Debbie" Oliver-Maynard of Chapmanville, WV; six grandchildren, Aaron Oliver & wife Angelina Ojeda-Oliver of Williamson, WV, Rhonda Rene'e Oliver-Adkins & husband Brian Adkins of Nitro, WV, Kellie Lucas & husband Larry Lucas of Chapmanville, WV, Kristi Hunter & husband Robbie Hunter of Pecks Mill, WV, Amanda Akers of Lake, WV, and Kaylee Maynard of Chapmanville, WV; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher Gore, Faith Makae Oliver, Tyler Akers, David Hunter, Lara Lucas, Brianna Olivia Adkins, Bethany Hunter, and Lonna Lucas; one brother, Tommy Oliver of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter-in-law, Karen Oliver of Yuma, WV; nieces and nephews, Diana Hagan, Brenda Lee, Linda Coleman, April Homeyer, Angela Greene, Kim Sassler, Joe Oliver, Scott Oliver, Ronald D. Adkins, Steven Adkins, and Rick Deweese; and a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 1:30 pm at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV, with Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating.
