Michael Glen Crews, 44, of Wilburn Flats in Elgood, died suddenly at his residence, Friday, January 30, 2009. Born February 24, 1964 in Princeton, he was the son of Elizabeth Farmer Crews of Elgood and the late Robert T. Crews. Being awarded employee of the year for 2008, he worked as a custodian at Concord University. Michael loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his two sons. He touched the hearts of everyone who took the time to know him and was the life of the party, always joking and laughing. He was a really special man that loved and lived for his two sons, Michael R. Crews and Jared P. Crews. Additional survivors include, Sherry L. Crews, mother of Michael's two sons, his girlfriend, Melissa Huddleson of Speedway; two sisters, Jo Ann Farmer and Patty F. Crews both of Princeton; four brothers, Terry W. Crews and wife Mildred of Elgood, Tommy C. Crews and wife Cathy and Dale R. Crews and wife Sandra all of Jonesborough, Tennessee, and Robert T. Crews, Jr. of Elgood; several nieces and nephews, Timothy J. Waddell, Harry W. Starcher, Jr., Angela S. Crisp, Tiffany A. Crisp, Kala M. Crews, Cody A. Crews, Dustin I. Walters, Destiny L. Crews, Dakota A . Crews, Anastasia M. Crews and Alexandra N. Crews. In keeping with Michael's request, the body will be cremated and entombed with his father. Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2009 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Terry Easter officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour.
