James "Jim" Lutz, age 80, of Muleshoe, Texas died Friday, November 13, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born October 16, 1940 in Vernon, Texas to James and Helen (Thompson) Lutz. He married Linda Ramsey in Vernon on February 5, 1972

Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for over 39 years in Plainview, Stephenville, Muleshoe and Morton. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed deer hunting, fly fishing and camping. Jim loved zip lining, being in the mountains and tending to his yard. He treasured spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events. Jim is preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda; his two sons, David Lutz and his wife, Angela of Muleshoe, Texas and Tad Lutz and his wife, Kimberly of Odessa, Texas; his two sisters, Jane Hickam and her husband, Sam of Arlington, Texas and Joni Streit and her husband, Don of Vernon, Texas; his six grandchildren, James Lutz, Madison Lutz, Lily Lutz, Brayden Lutz, Brody Lutz and Brynlie Lutz; and his great-grandson, Ronan Luebanos.
