--Son of Eugene and Velma Frazier Burrell. He grew up in Erwin, Tennessee.
--He married Phyllis Street, his high school sweetheart on February 8, 1957 in Unicoi, Tennessee. They moved to Charlotte in 1964, where they raised their 3 children: Donna, Michelle, and Mark. He had 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
--Occupation: He came to Charlotte with Fiber Industries. Later he started his own machine shop, Micro-Bore, which he operated until retirement.
--He was a 51 year member of Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, where he had served as Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School Supt.
--Member of Steele Creek Masonic Lodge. He had also been a volunteer firefighter with the Steele Creek Volunteer Fire Dept.
