Mary Olivia Duvall, nee, Whitsett was born In Washington County, Alabama the only child of James Glenn Whitsett (1851-1874) and Octavia Chaney Williamson and granddaughter of Daniel Mobley Williamson and his second wife Tabitha Worsham Williamson. The Williamsons and Worshams were prominent land owners in the St. Stephens area. Upon the untimely death of her father in Texas, Glennie, as she was known, and her mother Octavia returned to St. Stephens. After her mother's remarriage she grew up in and around Laurel along with eight half-brothers and half-sisters. Glennie's father's grave has not yet been located.
