Charlotte Magdalene Roberts, 81, of Roanoke, VA formerly of Falls Mills, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at the Richfield Nursing Center in Salem, VA. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Charlotte enjoyed fishing and working with her flowers.
Charlotte was born February 6, 1939 in Long Pole, WV, a daughter of the late Roy Cook (Deceased) and Lucille Bright-Cook (Deceased). In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Denvol Roberts (1935-2005) whom she married on December 20, 1957 in Ikes Fork, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, McDowell County, WV, 1957, Page 158, Application Date: December 14, 1957); two brothers, Johnny Cook (Deceased) and Troy Cook (Deceased); a sister, Paulette Cook -Collins (Deceased); a son-in-law, Scott Boyd (Deceased); his father-in-law, Luther Boyd Roberts (1915-1978); and his mother-in-law, Corda "Cordy" Dove Walker-Roberts (1922-2013).
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Roberts-Boyd & husband Keith Boyd of Roanoke, VA, and Karen Roberts-Boyd of Honaker, VA; two sons, Kenneth Roberts & wife Donna Roberts of Falls Mills VA and Roy Dale Roberts & wife Anna Roberts of Bluefield, VA; three grandchildren, Sarah Ethridge of Catawba, VA, Elizbeth Lester of Honaker, VA and Caleb Roberts of Bluefield, VA; four great grandchildren, Shawn David Miller, Katana Ethridge, Lilly Lester, and June Lester; and one brother, Roger Cook of Oceana, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 1:00 with Reverend James Cline officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Roberts Cemetery at Ikes Fork, WV. Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 12:00 noon until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced with no more than 25 people in attendance.
