Daniel Christian "Danny" Craig, 50, of Frederick County, VA passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, at his home.

Danny was born in 1970 in Sittard, the Netherlands, son of the late Leslie and Maria Anna Craig.

He was a graduate of AFCENT International High School in the Netherlands, Class of 1988. Danny continued his education at George Mason University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and a Master's degree in Education Administration.

For 27 years Danny passionately served as a Physical Education teacher, inspiring many children during his time teaching. He taught for 10 years in Fairfax County Public Schools with his remaining years spent teaching in Loudoun County Public Schools.

Throughout the years, Danny coached many sports teams for his kids. In addition, Danny was an owner/operator of both a Deejay and lawn care business. DCDJ Entertainment was founded through his love of music, where he was able to share his love with others through weddings, school events and parties. DC Lawn and Home was his way to lend a helping hand to others through his enjoyment of landscaping. As if he wasn't already busy enough he still found time to take pleasure in the things he loved including fishing, golfing, playing the drums, gardening, bike riding, hiking at White Oak Canyon Trail, and having a nice beer at Sweetwater Tavern. Out of all the things he enjoyed, nothing could top his love for baseball. He was most recently a member of the DC Men's Senior Baseball League. Although he started playing during his youth, no matter how many injuries or how old he got he never stopped.

He married Suzanne Johnson on May 14, 1994 at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Throughout the years they have shared a loving life together, creating a beautiful family.

Surviving with his wife are his children, Marisa Anna Elaine (23), Nicholas Christian (21), and Wesley Daniel Craig (15) all of Winchester, VA; brother, Timothy Craig of Centreville, VA; father and mother-in-law, David and Elaine Johnson of Front Royal, VA; and step-mother, Mary Ann Craig of Lebanon, PA. Other surviving members of the family include aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA with Pastor Keith Ritchie officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.
