Barry Allen "Burrhead" Campbell, 58, of 708 Union Church Rd., died Sunday, March 13, 2016 in his home, surrounded by family, following a long battle with cancer.

Born January 5, 1958 in Staunton, he was the son of Morgan Downey Campbell and Betty Bussard Graham. He was a 1976 graduate of Buffalo Gap High School, and served in the U. S. Marine Corps. from 1976 to 1979. Prior to retirement, he was employed as superintendent of Commonwealth Excavating. He was an avid outdoorsman, and particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church.

He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Sheila Graham; and his step father, Estil Graham. Surviving, in addition to his mother of Christiansburg are his wife, Cynthia (Conner) Campbell; three sisters, Teresa Weaver of King, North Carolina, Sandra Smith and husband Rick of Christiansburg, and Melissa Graham of Pulaski; a step brother, Andy Campbell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeff and Joan McGlaughlin of Churchville; a sister-in-law, Kathy Brown and husband Ronnie of Staunton; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jan Winstead of Bridgewater.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17 in Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church, officiated by Pastor Dennis Sites.
