Excerpt -- Ill for several years, John E. Benson, for more than 30 years a well known painter of Uniontown, died Wednesday night, November 14, 1928, at the home of his half-brother, O. Y. Shaw, of Bruceton Mills, W.Va. Mr. Benson's death was due to a heart trouble. Mr. Benson was born near Bruceton Mills and spent his early life there. He retired about three years ago from his profession on account of ill health. His wife and two daughters, Mrs. Jewell McCombs of McClellandtown and Mrs. Albert Rutter, of Uniontown, survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 this afternoon at the Shaw home.
