Twila Webb, 88, passed way on Monday, November 16, 2020 in the comfort of her own home. Twila was blessed with a long life. She faced many challenges, but the good memories will outlast all the sad ones. Twila and her husband, Leonard were all about family. While Leonard worked in the coal industry, Twila was a busy homemaker and also worked for the Raleigh County School system, retiring from Crescent Elementary School with 20 years of service. She had many interests, reading and crafting, and she loved to quilt. Late in life Twila has become a “computer geek.” She loved her friends on Facebook and computer gaming. Twila and Leonard worshiped at the Eccles First Baptist Church.

One of seven children, Twila Frances Brown was born up Claypool Hollow on June 23, 1932 to the late Doff Nathan Brown (1908-1969) and Willa Frances Martin-Brown (1915-1967). In addition to her parents, Twila was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Leonard Webb (1929-2009) whom she married on October 3, 1949; a brother, Kenneth Doff Brown (1930-1987) & wife Mabel Lois Davis-Brown (1928-1995); sons-in-law, Ronald C. Pennington (1952-1974), and Charles "Duke" Griffith (1955-2015); and her grandson, Scott Elliott Griffith (1977-2002).

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Webb-Pennington & companion Donnie Keffer, Melissa Webb-Southern & husband Steve Southern of Glen Daniel, and Melinda Webb-Griffith of Beckley; her grandchildren, Tracy Osborne & husband Jeff Osborne, Shawn Pennington, Heather Griffith, Brian Southern, and Michelle Birchfield & husband Scott Birchfield; seven great grandchildren; two great great- grandchildren; and her siblings, Joseph "Joe" K. Brown (B. 1938) & wife Virginia "Jenny" Lee Beckelhimer-Brown (B. 1937), Treva Brown-Bush, Sam Brown & wife Mozelle Brown, Kirt William Brown (B. 1949) & wife Peggy Lee Painter-Brown (B. 1948), and Theresa Brown-Shannon & husband Sam Shannon.

There will be a service for the family on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Garry Hall and Rev. Wayne Peters will be officiating. Twila will be laid to rest with her loved ones at the Callaway Cemetery at Glen Daniel.
