Aksenyn Vasyl was a private entrepreneur, social activist, a participant of Euromaidan.

In winter 2013-2014 years he regularly visited the square Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kiev, where he was active in the Revolution of dignity.
On February 19, 2014 he went from Chernivtsi to Kyiv. He was seriously determined, he should be there, where the hardest is, where it may need his help.

On February 20, a sniper wounded Vasyl in the abdomen and injured his hip. At first he was treated in a Kyiv hospital, and at the end of February he was sent to Rzeszow in Poland. There, Vasily died on March 12, 2014 from cardiac arrest due to injury.

February 20, 2014 another Chernivtsi resident, Oleksandr Shcherbaniuk was killed by a sniper on the Maidan.
On February 20, 2014, most Euromaidan activists died. In total, the revolutionary events of the winter of 2013-2014 claimed the lives of more than a hundred Maidan activists.

On March 15, 2014 he was buried in the Walk of Fame central city cemetery in Chernivtsi.

He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. Honorary citizen of Chernivtsi.

Vasyl is survived by his wife and son.
