James M. Timmons, 67, of Lebanon, Nebraska, passed away November 16, 2020 at his home in Lebanon after a battle with esophageal cancer. He was born on September 14, 1953 to Glen and Doris (Glenn) Timmons in Imperial, Nebraska. The family moved to Colorado when Jim was young where he attended school in the Arvada area and graduated from Arvada West High School.
Jim met Laurie in 1993 and the two would spend the rest of his life together. They were married at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Golden, Colorado. Jim, Laurie, and daughter, Nicole made their home in Arvada where he worked hard to support his family. Jim’s father taught him to camp, hunt, and fish which Jim was passing on to Nicole and grandson Jaxon. Teaching Jaxon became his greatest pleasure. Jim looked forward to the yearly hunting trip to share the fellowship of his friends and enjoy the outdoors. He also took a lot of pleasure in being an Arvada Reservoir ranger like his father was. He was always quick to volunteer his help for his game warden friend, Mike. On one occasion they saved an eagle that was hit by a car.
Jim’s father also passed on his love of baseball. Jim loved to watch, play, and for a couple of years Jim coached a softball team. Jim was proud of that team and referred to them as "his girls".
Jim enjoyed motorcycles, riding with the annual MDA Run to Sturgis for five years. He and Laurie retired to Lebanon in 2016 where they started restoring a house built around 1880. Jim was a strong man of few words and deep feelings. He liked people, loved his family deeply, and respected the people he called friends. His strong feelings of love extended to animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation was chosen and a celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date. Jim's ashes are to be spread on the mountain where his parent’s ashes were spread, on the land of his hunting area by friend, Denny, and at Trappers Lake by friend, Mike. Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
