Daughter of William Lance Laverick (1895-1957) and Ivy Eastwood (1911--2004) who where married 20 June 1932 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Had one sibling, Thomas David Laverick (died 1999). After the death of her father (1957) , her mother married Axel Ragnar Charles Granstrom (1900-1974), sometime between 1957-1959.

Doreen was a chorus-dancer and performed mostly at The Cave Supper Club (Vancouver, BC, Canada) with the finest and most famous headliners of the day and also in Alaska, Seattle and Portland, Washington and in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Doreen's obituary)

CHARLES (sic-Charles was a middle name) GRANDSTROM (sic-should be GRANSTROM) and daughter, DOREEN LAVERICK gave a party at the Cave in honor of newlyweds, MRS. AND MRS G. R. SOMMERVILLE. The bride, the former ISA WINNIFRED THOMSON, is a niece of Mrs. Grandstrom [sic].

Doreen Laverick married Norman John Esary, some time between 1959-1974. He was the love of her life. Norman passed away on 19 Dec 1977 in Seattle, King County, Washington, USA.

April 1991-(Numerous Canadian newspaper articles (same story) on Newspaper.com states "Richard, who grew up in Vancouver with his mother, dancer Doreen Esary, says it was "pretty cool" to be a 12-year old with an ultra-famous TV star for a dad. Article goes on to say that at that time "Martin is in Vancouver to act in North of Pittsburgh, a feature being shot now by Vancouver director Richard Martin, who, yes, is his son. We (Doreen and Dick) played The Cave Supper Club in 1956 [sic], and that's where Richard came from," Dick laughs. [Correct year would have been 1955 since Richard was born in April 1956].
