Obituary
Lois was born in Colfax, WA to Heinrich and Matilda Schmick on June 18, 1932. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1950 and attended Seattle Pacific University and Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri from 1952-1956. From 1973-1991 she was employed as a bookkeeper by Lynden Feed Store/Fisher-Mills.

Lois married Rueben Zimmermann in 1959 and they shared 55 wonderful years together until his passing in 2014. She was a devoted mother to their two sons.

Talented in the kitchen, Lois was known for baking cookies and preparing family meals. She loved playing games with family and friends, especially Yahtzee and UNO, and always had beautiful hanging flower baskets. She also enjoyed dining at Olive Garden, her favorite restaurant. Lois was caring and calm. She always showed gratitude to those who helped her. She had a steadfast faith in God and instilled in her children to be caring and non-judgmental to everyone.

In recent years, we loved to see our mother’s face light up when her daughter-in-law visited and brought gifts and homemade food. She loved and adored her much. In fact, mom’s greatest joy was when her entire family was together for reunions and events.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rueben; parents, Heinrich and Matilda; and brother, Robert “Bob” Schmick of Otis Orchards, WA.

She will be laid to rest at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale, WA.
