Sharon Kay (Riley) Franks was welcomed to her heavenly home by God's angels at 4 p.m. on November 16, 2020.

A private family burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Sharon's journey started August 16, 1941. She was born at home to parents D.C. and Vernia Riley in Kinta, Oklahoma.

Sharon married David Leon Franks from Duke, Oklahoma on May 30th 1959 and spent 15 years as an Army wife and 61 years of marriage to Dave. Sharon started working at JC Penney on September 3, 1975 and retired on April 17, 1998. She worked as a volunteer at MRHC in the gift shop for over 10 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in McAlester, and loved her many friends in Adult 2 Sunday School class.

Survivors include Sharon's devoted husband Dave; grandson, Adam Placker of the home; son, David Lee Franks and Lisa of McAlester; daughter, Deanna Lynn Cathey and husband David of Durant, OK; sisters, Vickie Louise Kennedy and husband Jerry of Amber, OK, Daisy Lavern Sprowls of Pocasset, OK; brother, David Carl Riley and wife Denise of Amber, OK; brother-in-law, Gene Turner of Pocasset, OK; sister-in-law, Inge of Lawton, OK; five grandchildren, Brian Franks and wife Debra, Michael Olandese and wife Vanessa, Adam Placker, Ashlye Bishop and Kory Placker; Sharon also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Brylee, Parker, Xilin, Daphnye, Abigail and Ryleigh.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, D.C. and Vernia; brother, Gerald Dee Riley; sister, Wanda Sue Turner and now rejoices with them in God's presence.
