Mrs. and Mrs. James L. Dutton, who were married recently in Marietta, Okla., have returned from a trip to New Orleans. They are residing at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Dutton, 2230 Lipscomb.

She is the former Miss Peggy Lou Connelly, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. G. F. Connelly of Groesbeck.

Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Carr attended the couple. Mr. Dutton is a graduate of Pascal High School and attended TCU and NTSC. Mrs. Dutton is a graduate of Polytechnic High School.

Starlet, Night Club Comedian Are Wed Here

The Hollywood starlet, Peggy Connelly, who is 23, and the night club comic, Dick Martin, who is 32, disappeared into the rainy night of Cleveland after their wedding in Municipal Court here yesterday.

Judge Thomas J. Parrino married the couple at 10:30 a.m., in his courtroom. Mrs. Bill Randle, wife of the disc jockey, was there in Peggy's behalf, and Dan Rowan, Dick's partner in a comedy act, was best man.

FORT WORTH-Peggy Lou Connelly, 75, departed this life Monday, June 11, 2007, in Fort Worth.

FUNERAL: Services will be determined at a later date.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancenr Socity.

Peggy was born in Shreveport, La., on Sept. 25, 1931, and was reared in Fort Worth, where she graduated from Polytechnic High School. She was a singer and entertainer in the Fort Worth-Dallas area from the age of 15 and performed with severall ocal dance bands, including Harvey Anderson.

Shortly after she graduated from high school, she moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she was under contract to Paramount Studios for several years and appeared in movies, commercials and TV shows, most notable of which was the Ernie Kovacs show, "Take a Good Look."

In 1956, she recorded an album of old standards for Bethelem Record and was one of the founding members of the New Christy Minstrels. She then moved to Paris, France, where she continued to sing with many fine jazz musicians, later forming her own jazz trio in 1995, Te Jazzberries, which performed throughout Europe until disbanding in 2000.

SURVIVORS: Son, Cary Martin of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, J. Dan Connelly and wife, Sunny of Alto; nieces, Melissa Widener and husband, J. J. of Fort Worth, Debby Wheeler of Arlington, Vickie Miller and husband, Dennis of Glenwood, Ark.; nephews, Robin Moore and wife, Monica of Fort Smith, Ark., Van Cox of Springtown; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Before Peggy's marriage to Dick Martin, she was in a serious relationship with Frank Sinatra (several newspaper articles). Her brother, J. D. Connelly stated in Dec 2020 that Frank had actually proposed to Peggy.
