Jonathan "Jon" Paul Johnson, 61, passed away October 31, 2020. Services will be held Thursday November 5, 2020 4pm-7pm with a Vigil at 7pm as Waterbury Funeral Service 4125 Orleans Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa. Family will be present 5pm-7pm.
Jonathan Paul Johnson was born June 21, 1959 in Hawarden, IA. to James and Donna (Skinner) Johnson. He grew up in Hawarden graduating from West Sioux High School in 1977. He received an Associates in Nursing from Western Iowa Technical College in Sioux City, Iowa in 1999 and a Bachelors Degree in Human Resourses and a BSN in Nursing from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa in 2003.
Jon married Robin Ludwig in 1983 and to this union two daughters, Mikaia and Marissa were born. The couple later divorced. Jon married Donna Wright Henry December 29, 1990.
Jon was always working starting with delivering newspapers when he was still in school. He worked at Floyd Valley John Morrell packing house, Sue Honey and Gill Hauling. He especially enjoyed farming.
Jon was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of Pheasants Forever. He did some racing when he was younger. He was very mechanical and could fix anything. Jon loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren. Jon had a great sense of humor and was quite the author no never published. His stories were awesome!
Jon is survived by his wife, Donna; his parents Jim and Jean; his daughters Mikaia Scott and Marissa; his step-sons Michael Henry, Michael (Elizabeth) Gehron; his step-daughter Kelli (Brett Roberts); sisters Sharla Rinn, Maralee (Scott) Schmidt, Jamey Genna, Suzanne(Nick) Anthony,Kelley (Matt) Strickland; brothers William(Doneen), David, and Jimmy (Kelly), Robert (Nicolle); grandchildren Hope, Natalee, Jacob, Alexander, Nathan, Lila, and Austin.
Jon was preceded in death by his brother Alan.
