Maria de Jesus ”Susie” Melendez, 68, a loving mother, grandmother, and spectacular great grandmother, was called by the Lord on November 14, 2020 in Laredo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo & Maria del Carmen Medeles; siblings, Leonardo Medeles, Elodia Medeles.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Victor Allen Melendez Sr., children, Leticia (Ruben) Gutierrez, Victor Allen (Diana) Melendez Jr., Sandra (David) Herrera Jr.; grandchildren, Samantha Gutierrez, Julie Gutierrez, Ruben Gutierrez Jr., Venessa Herrera, Katie Herrera, David Herrera III; great grandchildren, Stephanie Marie Aguilar, Sophia Nicole Aguilar; sister, San Juanita (+Juan Esteban Sr.) Almazan; sister in law, Maria Flor Medeles; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gamez and Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2020, from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Funeral home doors open at 7:00 a.m. and a procession departs at 8:30 a.m.
Cremation will be held at a later date.
She loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and numerous other family and friends.
