Nancy was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Clare and Jessie (Bartlett) Smith. She married George Travis on April 28, 1950 in Flint and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2010. She was a member of West Flint Church of the Nazarene for over 40 years and affiliated with Carriage Town Mission. Nancy was also a member of the Flushing Historical Society. Mrs. Travis was an associate at Hudson's Department Store for several years. She was also a nurse's aide.
