Mr. Lawrence "Larry" W. Hendricks, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2020, at his home.

He was born July 7, 1938, to Arthur and Marie (Tipton) Hendricks at St, Mary's Hospital in Galesburg. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1956. He married Maxine Rollins on July 20th, 1958 at First United Methodist Church in Galesburg.

Larry served in the USMC for 20 years as a maintenance chief retiring in 1976 at the rank of GySgt. After returning to Galesburg he worked in numerous maintenance positions including Sudzy's, Jumer's Castle Inn, and Sears. In his later years, he enjoyed family gatherings, watching TV, and occasional trips to the Casinos.

He is survived by Maxine, 3 daughters, Penny (Tom) Boyd of Avon, Karen Morss-Pound (Lance) of Temecula, CA, and Lydia (Mark) Beck of Enid, OK, 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers (Richard & Robert), 1 sister (Marilyn Hayes), 1 son, and 1 granddaughter.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg with military rites by the VFW/American Legion Honor Guard. Rev. Carna Peterson will officiate. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, in Arlington VA, or the Knox County Humane Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
