Rev. Eddie Eugene "Ed" Martin 73 of Tucker, GA died 11-13-2020.
Predeceased by parents, Lawrence & Betty Jean Martin; and father-in-law, J. T. Buice.
Survived by wife of 30 years, Janet Buice Martin; children, Amy Martin of VA, Melissa (Ken) Atherton of PA, and Ryan (Joannie) Martin of PA; step-children, Terry Gower and Darryl (Dionne) Gower of FL; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; dear friends, Tim and Alma Proffitt; mother-in-law, Betty Pugh Buice; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gail and Harry Blankenship, Patti and Michael Waycaster, and Debbie and Greg Reece; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born 7-22-1947 in Baltimore, MD, he was a graduate of James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg, PA and a graduate of Shippensburg University in PA with a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree. He was a retired school teacher having taught at James Buchanan H. S. and Mercersburg Academy. After his retirement he became an ordained minister and he was a teacher at the Regional Youth Detention Center in DeKalb Co. He was a member of South Ministries and also served as Associate Pastor at Cathedral of Praise at Tucker, GA for ten years. He was a Mason at Tucker Masonic Lodge No. 42 F&AM, a Shriner and member of the Yaarab Temple and was on staff as Director of Yaarab Temple.
Funeral service will be held on Friday in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Evangelist Richard South and Bishop Tim Lamb officiating. The service will be live streamed.
Eddie Eugene Martin of Franklin, PA married Sharon Carol Shew of St. Thomas, PA on 10-14-1966 in PA. She was daughter of John Merle & Helen Jane Higgins Shew.
Eddie married 1990 Janet Buice Gower daughter of James Thurlow & Betty Pugh Buice.
