She was born on Friday, December 17, 1943, in (Washington Twp.) Blackford County, IN. Karen attended the Washington Twp. Schools and Hartford City High School. She had worked at Pierce Govenor, Upland, IN, United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, IN, and for the vending company at General Motors. Karen enjoyed crocheting, fishing, gardening, her cats, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
