Annie Louise Burkhart Hayes, age 91, of Asheboro died Friday, November 13, 2020 at Randolph Health.
Mrs. Hayes was born October 23, 1929 in Randolph County to Raymond and Corsby Burkhart.
Mrs. Hayes was a homemaker who was always willing to help others to their doctors' appointments and lend a helping hand. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Hayes, brother, James Burkhart and nephew, Pierce Burkhart.
She is survived by son, David L. Hayes and wife Susan of Asheboro; daughter, Luann H. Allen and husband Quentin "Joe" of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jamie Owens and husband Lonnie of Asheboro, Bobby Jo Allen and wife Karen of Asheboro, Will Hayes and wife Abbi of Indian Trail; great grandchildren, Walker Owens, Lacy and Dixie Allen, Wrenn Hayes; sister, Betty B. Poole of Asheboro.
Mrs. Hayes will lie in repose Monday, November 16, 2020 from 12 noon until 5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro.
The family would like to thank the staff of Elmcroft of Asheboro for the loving care given to Mrs. Hayes during her stay there. Also, to Dr. Nina Uppin for her years of care and compassion for Annie and her family as well as the staff of Randolph Hospital for the care given during her last hours.
