He graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1957. Ron married Marlene Neese on September 15, 1961. Following high school Ron worked for Lonestar for 11 ½ years. Most of his career he worked for Hercules and then AET. He retired after 32 years of service. He and Marlene were members of the Knightsville United Methodist Church and now are attending Community Missionary Church in Brazil.
He was recently inducted into the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame in March of 2020. He loved playing music, especially his guitar. He also enjoyed his 63 Corvette and spending time with his family.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Lillie Rodgers; his siblings: Harold Rodgers, Cliff Rodgers, Arlene Treash, and Betty Savio.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Marlene Rodgers; 2 sons: Gary Rodgers and wife Beth and Jeff Rodgers and wife Leslie; grandchildren: Justin Rodgers (Alissa) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Zach Rodgers of Terre Haute, and Hayley Douglas (Kennon) of Brazil; great-grandchildren: Braxton Rodgers, Gabriel Rodgers, Kashton Douglas, and Vaelyn Douglas; a special niece Janet Rodgers as well as many extended family members and friends.
Private Services will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Services will be livestreamed on Facebook if you wish to attend virtually.
