Mr. Clarence Dewey Harris, age 72, of Roxboro, NC, departed this life Friday, October 9, 2020 in Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC. He was a native of Person County, a member of Obie's Chapel United Holiness Church in Timberlake and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sonya Harris, his parents, Dewey and Beatrice Harris; and three brothers: Bobby Harris, Linwood Harris and Harold Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Dedra Harris of the home; three children: Natasha Harris of Chapel Hill, NC, Ashley Harris of Roxboro, NC and Deborah Harris of Durham, NC; two siblings: Ernestine Atkinson of Farmville, VA and Will Rainey Harris, also of Durham; one granddaughter, Dazah Harris of Durham; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00pm at Obie's Chapel United Holiness Church, 2344 Guess Road, Timberlake, NC 27583 with the Rev. Joe Winston, Pastor, officiating and providing the eulogy. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday at the church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm when his body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
