Beverly K. Thompson, 77, Altus, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at her home with her sister by her side. A graveside committal of her cremated remains in the Altus City Cemetery is pending at this time.
Beverly Kunemund was born April 9, 1943 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Frank and Alice (Erickson) Kunemund. She attended school in Dover, New Jersey and married Guy Thompson on May 12, 1972 in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany. She worked for the Department of Defense for 38 years and retired from Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, October 1998. Her job took her from New Jersey to Korea, South Vietnam, California, Stuttgart, Germany and ending her career at Altus Air Force Base.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Kunemund; husband, Guy Thompson; brother, Robert Kunemund; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Amerman and Harvey Bakerman.
She is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Amerman and Joyce Bakerman (Harvey); special sister-in-law, Roselyn Kunemund; two nieces, Terry Wolfson and Karen Tonnesen; two step sons, Danny Thompson and Ora Guy Thompson; six step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas.
