Ill for only a week, Michael Wayne Wingfield was taken to Morgantown upon detection of a viral infection that affects the brain with inflammation.
The son of Kenneth Fred and Ruby Mae (Carr) Wingfield, he was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. and is survived by one brother, Kenneth Fred Wingfield Jr., at home; four sisters, Kathy, Donna, Betty and Kimberly Wingfield, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Carr, Parsons, and paternal grandmother, Irene Wingfield, RD. 2, Parsons.
The body is in the Greenlief Funeral Home, Parsons.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home today at 4 p.m. by Rev. Harris, pastor of the Parsons EUB Church.
Interment will be in Parsons City Cemetery.
