Dennis was the son of Karl Thredgold Moore and Shirley Hardman Bjerke Moore. He attended Ben Lomond High School and Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. It was at Weber State he met his wife, Faye. They were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together, they lived in Kaysville, Utah, St. Charles, Missouri, finally settling in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.

Dennis was active in his church, and served many callings, his favorite being Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed gospel study, discussion, and being with his family. He was often acting in the service of others, providing guidance, love, and compassion to those around him. He served as a temple worker at the Raleigh Temple, and served a two year mission to Austria.

He founded and ran The Woodmoor Group, a successful computer software enterprise, for over 15 years.

At the time of his passing, Dennis was survived by four children, 15 grandchildren, and eight siblings and their partners. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye, parents, father-in-law Kenneth Wood, and mother-in-law Jennette Parker Wood.
