Mrs. Zella Quay Ables Grissom, 80, of Scobey, a long-time resident of Red Bay, AL, passed away Friday, November 14, 2020 at her sister’s s home surrounded by family.

She was born June 20, 1940 in Dennis, MS to Curtis Elwood and Hazel Theo Caroline Brosious Ables. She had spent most of her working life as a Supervisor at Golden Manufacturing and was a member of the Zion Grove Church of God of Prophecy. Zella loved children and spent countless hours working in her church’s children’s ministry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Zion Grove Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. William Tribble and Rev. James Harrison officiating. Mickey Tate will deliver the eulogy. Family and friends will gather 30 minutes prior to the service Sunday at the church. The committal service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Itawamba County.

Survivors include two sisters, Carolyn Whitten of Scobey and Lena Gray of Amory and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Earl Grissom.
