Cheryl Ann Robinson passed away December 20th, surrounded by her husband and two daughters at ET York Care Center after a courageous effort with the love and support from her family, friends and healthcare team. Cheryl was born in North Tarrytown, New York on June 10, 1957 to her loving parents, Robert and Marie Kiselak. While in New York, she had a rich and fulfilling upbringing with her large family and many friends. These early years built a strong foundation of love and importance of family throughout her life. She moved to Lake Worth, Florida with her parents and brothers in 1971, where she would later meet her husband of 35 years. They would eventually move to Gainesville, Fl where they raised their 2 daughters for the last 31 years. Cheryl devoted her life to family and friends. She received her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and had a career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She worked in many areas including Children's Home Society, Home Care Case Management, and over the last 20 years as a clinical social worker with the geriatric population and physicians for the Senior Healthcare Center at Crown Pointe. She created a Christmas Tree Decorating fundraiser 18 years ago, and was voted by her N Florida peers as Social Worker of the year. She was instrumental in bringing about Ride to Remember for the Alzheimer's population and has proactively brought about many fundraising events throughout her career. Through her kindness, compassion, intelligence and ability to make things happen, she was able to enrich the lives of many people in the community.
Not only has she helped and positively effected so many people through her work, she has also been the guiding light for her loving family. She has lived a life of smiles, wit and cleverness, and known to tie in a humorous remark to the conversation. She taught her daughters to see the best in people, situations and in themselves. Her positivity and spirituality taught her family about love, faith, enjoying life to the fullest and the importance of being present in each moment. She is one of a kind, having a heart, soul and being like no other. Her light will continue to shine knowing her spirit will always be with us. Cheryl will be honored and missed by her husband Paul Robinson, daughters Elise Robinson and Gina Robinson, father Robert Kiselak, brothers Rob Kiselak and spouse Vicki Comstock, and Will Kiselak. Her loving mother, Marie Kiselak, passed away in 2010.
Cheryl felt passionately about increasing kidney cancer awareness, creating support groups, and providing assistance to others going through treatment. There will be an upcoming celebration of life where donations can be made towards this cause.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 9:30 a.m., at Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 NW 43rd Street, with Fr. John Phillips as celebrant.
