He was born August 27, 1944, to the late Waylon and Mildred Lyons in Greenbrier, Arkansas, and was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Gene Lyons.
He was a man of great faith and was a member of Faith Baptist Church North Little Rock, where he loved to play his electric bass and fellowship with his church family and friends.
He spent every single day of his retired life with his beloved wife, Loretta. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an Army National Guard Veteran and retired from ABF Systems after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Loretta Kegley Lyons, one son, Jimmy Harrell Lyons Jr. (Sandy) and one daughter, Renee Lyons Jackson (Wesley). He is survived by six grandchildren, Jamie Lyons, Ashley “Buggy” Lyons, Joseph Jackson (Kerry), Anna Norsworthy (Jacob), Jennifer Gifford (Thomas), Abby Jackson, one aunt, Marvell Hardy (Frank) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home with visitation an hour before the service. Brother Lynn Raburn will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Jackson, Thomas Gifford, Jacob Norsworthy, Ben Fletcher, Adam Ham, and Fred Acklin.
