Freeda Fay (Rice) Adams 93, of Blain, died on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the home of her daughter, Carol, in Loysville. She was born March 7, 1927 in New Bloomfield to the late George F. Rice and Lettie Winguard (Sweger) Rice.

She started her schooling in Alinda at Milltown School. After the death of her mother, the family eventually moved to Blain where another one room schoolhouse, “Red Corner” had a role in her education. She was a 1945 graduate of Blain Union High School. She continued her education at Temple University in Philadelphia, graduating in 1948 as a registered nurse. She worked as a RN for over thirty years at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia.

Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, ballroom dancing, yard sales and fishing. Freeda was a very talented and gifted quilter.

Surviving are four children, Michael (Kim) Adams of Exton, Carol Adams of Loysville, Mary Donohue of Cinnaminson, NJ, and Robert Adams of Loysville. Freeda is survived by six grandchildren: Brian (Eileen) Yasutis of Milltown, NJ, Jennifer (Reuben) Rath of Media, Brian (Karen) Adams of Exton, Katie and Jackie Donohue of Cinnaminson, NJ, Stephanie (Steve) Bruce of Philadelpia. Freeda is survived by seven great grandchildren: Matthew and Juliet Yasutis, Brady and Serafina Adams, Aria Rath, and Stephen and Shane Bruce. In addition, Freeda is survived by a half-brother Nevin G. Rice of Blain. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sharon Ann Yasutis, brother Frank E Rice and a half-sister Grace Book, both of Blain.
