Larry J. England, age 70, of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday (April 3, 2011) at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green.

He was born on May 6, 1940 in Rockport, Allen County, Ohio to the late Francis & Isa (Van Pelt) England. He married Gwendolyn "Gwen" E. Koke on June 24, 1983 in Carey. Surviving are his loving wife of 27 years Gwen; first wife Charlotte (Marugg) Lowery of Fostoria; sons, Eddie (Linda) England of Delaware, Michael England of Carey; daughter, Valorie (Paul) Guerrero of Bellbrook; step-sons, Thomas (Claire) Shumway of Findlay, Todd Shumway of Wayne; step-daughters, Robyn (Jeff) Galbraith of Wayne, Jill Rose of Toledo, Betsy (Herb) Nagy of Wayne, Wendy (Chris) Sawyers of Fort Benning, Georgia; brothers, James (Deloria) England of Clyde, Raymond (Donna) England of Nevada, Roger England of Huntington, Indiana; 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Michael Shumway; brothers, Roy, Lee, Dennis; sisters, Gaynelle Cole and Barbara Williams.

Larry retired from Honeywell in Fostoria where he had worked for 32 years as a machinist. He attended Church of the Good Shepherd near Wayne and was a member of Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338 in Bradner. He was a 1959 graduate of Carey High School and served his country proudly in the Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday (April 6, 2011) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday with Pastor Ron Merritt Officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Albert Bowe American Legion. Memorial donations may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, American Cancer Society or Carey PeeWee Baseball League.
