Gene and Cheryl were married for 54 years and raised three children: Janie, Mitch and David.

During her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family, hunting, gathering, raising animals, cooking and preserving food, but especially loved gardening. She was a Master Gardener and wrote three books about gardening in Wyoming. These books also contained favorite recipes. She enjoyed art and writing.

Cheryl contributed stories and poems which were published in magazines and books. She also enjoyed genealogy and traced the family history back numerous generations while contributing information to several genealogy societies. Cheryl collected and wrote down family stories that she hoped would be passed down for many generations.
